Katherine Penty is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor at The Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy. She received her Master of Science Degree in Social Agency Counseling from the University of Dayton then went on to complete additional Clinical Counseling courses at Ashland Seminary. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Cedarville University since 1987. Katherine has practiced as a Registered Nurse in both the home setting w/ adults struggling w/ dementia or other mental health challenges and the inpatient behavioral health setting for adults, children and adolescents. Since obtaining her Master’s Degree in Counseling in 1997 she has worked to improve the lives of children, teens, young and mature adults in both private and community mental health practices, employee assistance, adults in skilled / extended care, children and teens in foster care, foster caregivers and all members of the adoption triad including children and teen adoptees, adult adoptees, birth and adoptive parents. Katherine is an adoptive parent herself. She enjoys her time being a parent, also spending time enjoying extended family and friends, the natural beauty of the outdoors, being adventurous as a lifelong learner and expressing herself through creative arts. Katherine is available to work with children 5 years of age and up through teenage, young, mid and older adults with a wide variety of issues.
