Kathleen Hansley, LISW

Kathleen Hansley, LISW

I am an LISW who received my Master’s of Social Work in 2005 from the Ohio State University. I have provided individual, family, and group therapy services for 15 years in outpatient, hospital, and residential settings, including Mental Health Services for Clark and Madison County, Central Ohio Mental Health, Step by Step Academy, United Methodist Children’s Home, and Sequel Pomegranate Health Systems. I have worked with a variety of ages, including preschoolers up to adults.

It is particularly important for me to create a warm and welcoming environment for the clients I serve to promote a safe space for healing. I utilize a strengths-based, person-centered approach. I enjoy working with adults and children of all ages, and have extensive experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced abuse and other types of trauma. The modalities used in treatment may include CBT, CPT, psychodynamic therapy, family therapy, play therapy and mindfulness-based interventions. My goal is to develop and implement appropriate therapeutic treatment plans to help both adults and children reach their highest potential, be able to restore functioning and find hope again, and to help families live more peaceful and happier lives together. I can treat depression, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, ODD, ADHD, RAD and adoption/attachment issues, severe behavioral issues, grief, anger, trauma, and family relational problems. My strength is in establishing relationships with youth and adults, by being non-judgmental, patient, and calm with my approach to therapy. I am passionate about helping children and adults who have experienced trauma, and working with youth and families on behavioral and parenting strategies. I have special training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD in adults and adolescents, and Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for young children up to adolescents. Additionally, I have extensive experience with crisis management, and collaboration with the child welfare system. I have served as an advocate for youth in foster care and permanent custody, as well as with their families during reunification or adoptive processes.

Stephanie Wilkerson, LISW

Stephanie Wilkerson, LISW

Stephanie obtained her graduate degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University and has been a practicing therapist since 2014. For the past four years, she has worked with adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and PTSD. She works with both adolescents and adults who have decided it’s no longer an option to continue being stuck in a never-ending cycle of anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and life stress.

Stephanie specializes in Cognitive Processing Therapy which utilizes a top-down approach for trauma treatment. This therapy has proven to provide a significant decrease in PTSD symptoms within 12 therapy sessions; it challenges ones thoughts associated with why a trauma occurred rather than on the trauma itself. Due to this, clients do not have to give detailed descriptions of their past trauma which can be very difficult.

Stephanie is a therapist who believes thoughts are the driving force for our emotions and behaviors. If a person can learn to experience an emotion in a non-judgmental way, he or she would be free to translate his/her experiences into positive thoughts of curiosity. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy allows this process to begin and provides long-term relief from uncomfortable emotions dictating life decisions.
